Synopsis
Earth is saved by heroes for now, but the large-scale battle between the Hero Association and the Monster Association is far from over. The dangerous hero hunter Garou is still on the loose despite the efforts to capture him, and the Monster Association has abducted a notable figure, leaving the Hero Association in turmoil. With a strict deadline for the rescue, the heroes set out in search of the monsters' hideout. Though he is heavily injured, Garou is recruited by the Monster Association in the hope of making him a part of the leadership. In order to ascend the ranks, the hero hunter must first prove that he is ready to give up on his humanity by killing a hero. It does not take long for Garou to find his victim, but that very person is the oblivious Saitama, who effortlessly knocks him out. This humiliating defeat causes Garou to be branded as a traitor by the monsters. Moreover, the next clash between the two associations approaches rapidly. As both sides are ready to engage in any tactics and use any pawns at their disposal, the safety of the world is at their mercy. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

There are hundreds of anime on this sight with worse animation, worse soundtracks, worse story telling, and way higher scores. Let's not scare people away from watching this season just because the quality isn't the same as the first season was. It's still definitely worth a watch if you enjoyed season 1 & 2 for anything more than just animated fight scenes. And if you've ever watched and enjoyed DragonBall, Bleach, One Piece, or most any other famous shonen anime, then you're already used to fight scenes animated in this style. We can hope it gets closer to it's original qualityin the next season, but it's been blasted enough in my opinion. Let's just sit down and watch an anime to enjoy it. If that's what you're looking for, this is a good pick.

Bro, we’re here for Saitama. Who cares about Super Fridge Man, Rank C, against that evil eagle shit? It’s insane that the best episode of this season is when the S-Rank heroes eat with Saitama. And the worst part is when an interesting protagonist finally gets a fight, but the animation is so bad it kills all the tension. That’s really bad. I mean, just take Overlord as an example. The protagonist is OP, but everything is built to make it feel badass. Here, it’s the complete opposite. Honestly, OPM Season 3 was supposed to be a shonen parody, but now it’s just a bad shonen.

The only good thing I can say about this anime - I feel like the manga was good. Honestly, some of the frames were spectacular, I kept on rewatching some of them just to make sure that the quality was as good as I felt it in the moment. I absolutely loved VA as well, but... Just to make sure, that I am not delusional I rewatched 1st season of one 'pun' man and... As you can guess, I was so frustrated and disgusted by frame by frame animation of season 3 that I couldn't bring myself to give anything higher than 2/10. It wouldn't be sobad if it was slice-of-life or comedy anime, but for an action oriented one, it's purely inacceptable to have an animation this bad. I CAN SEE THE FRAMES WHILE HAVING AN INCREDIBLY BAD VISION! Don't get me wrong. I still like Saitama and other char's writing, I am sure that it is wholesome and fun manga. but as an anime? It's unwatchable, I find myself fast-forwarding and I can't help but be so frustrated and disappointed by the way it came to be. ;-;

It's Soo fuckin good, like God tier level of quality, and JC staff with Bandai definitely create one of the masterpiece of a masterpiece anime like the first season of one punch man. (except this time it's the opposite) Pace 😨/100 I can't believe how they decided to make one of the most basic simplest way of pacing used to be and decided to just make it this great, like "fuck one piece, let's make this the greatest pace abuser anime of all time". Story 8/10 One sensei never disappointing with story, even though it's simple, yet it's so intriguing and interesting to watch. even though God knows how"masterpiece" the pacing were. Sound ✋🗣️🤚/100 They wake up and say, "hey, let's make David production in tears after they listen to our sound effects". They definitely did make lot of people shed a tears. Tears of laughter and disappointment. Animation 😮💨🔥/100 As one of the upper head that says about one punch man season 3 before airing, "It'll be the best season, and on par/beat the first season quality.". It's so fuckin true!!! Like, they make studio Deen who works with 7DS before looks like a proper anime. And they even make blue lock S2 looks like a fuckin masterpiece like holy shit, the quality is absolute cinema ✋😎🤚 Character Design 8/10 If I could say one good thing about this season. It's definitely the character design. It's not that masterpiece level of good, but definitely good. Consistency 😏/100 God knows how "masterpiece" the consistency was. It's so crazy good that everybody will praise JC Staff and Bandai Namco as the greatest combination to create one of the most popular anime ever ✋😎🤚 Overall Rating is definitely 100/100🗣️. Absolute cinema god tier level even MAPPA and madhouse drop to their knees watching this masterpiece ✋😎🤚

Season 3 is the season that completely ended the series for me. The story isn’t unique or engaging—it’s predictable in the worst way, and even as a fan of the genre, there’s nothing enjoyable about how it’s handled. The plot feels messy and poorly thought out, with developments that lack buildup or payoff. The art style doesn’t help either; it feels inconsistent and uninspired, failing to match the emotional weight the story tries to convey. The characters are especially disappointing—most lack depth, meaningful flaws, or believable strengths. Instead, they often act unnaturally stupid or irrational just to push the plot forward. Character reactions to major events feelforced and unrealistic, making it hard to stay invested. Overall, every aspect of this season adds insult to injury, turning an already weak series into a double insult by the end. While die-hard fans might still try to enjoy it, many viewers—even those who liked earlier seasons—will likely find this season frustrating and disappointing.

I'll save you time, if you want to watch this, watch some of episode 1 to refresh yourself of what's happening and then go to last 12 minutes of episode 12 for the most disappointing fight ever. And the rest of the series? Don't bother, I'm never getting the time lost back, save your own time. I dont write reviews, but this... This is how you alienate your entire fanbase and kill a series. You manage to deliver the impossible character series on season 1, follow up in season 2. Then hype it up for season 3 for the impossible fight and then you release this? The whole season could have been done in 2 episodes at most. Your series carries hype and then to come out with this filler slop? If not for expectations to the series, I would have given a 3-4/10, but due to this it gets 1/10 (and I wish I could vote lower)

(Spanish review on my list) Let's see, people get so worked up over nothing. Complaints about the animation quality, the fact that they didn't adapt a certain frame, the use of static images, the manga being better written and drawn, etc., etc... You have every right to want a well-adapted work, especially since the first and second seasons had different levels of quality, BUT it's not the worst garbage in the world. You and I have seen worse animation. For example, in recent seasons, what happened to WannaDance? That 3D is cringeworthy, and it wasn't demonized as much as One Punch Man... On the other hand, I mean, come on, we're talking about One Punch Man. The fact that the manga has such good artwork is thanks to the fact that a chapter is published every 15 to 22 days and that the artist loves the work, but why don't you criticize the webcomic? That drawing is of "low quality". What I'm getting at is... if a story is good, the animation is secondary. High Score Girl, Id:Invaded, Seikaisuru Kado, Piano no Mori, to name a few, are anime with not-so-great animation but with fantastic stories that are totally worth watching. So what's the problem then? That One Punch Man isn't a good work overall. It's just heroes punching each other against supposedly increasingly stronger monsters, where no matter what happens, nothing matters because our protagonist is One Punch Man. He's going to defeat everyone with a single punch anyway. It doesn't have a good story, so you can't expect good animation. As a studio, I'm not going to invest much in an anime that wastes animation on heartless battles because that's what One Punch Man is: just fights for the love of fighting, without an important story, dramatic backstories, or noteworthy comedy. It's explosions of colors and ridiculous techniques, each one more "impressive" than the last, but regardless of everything, in the end, it all goes to... Solving it with a simple "One Punch Man" It's the same joke repeated over and over. This anime should have ended in the first season because it stopped having anything new to say; it just keeps repeating itself. SO, to summarize and end this, you can't expect much from a story that can't offer any more. The internet is upset because the only thing this anime can offer is animation in the fights, and it's not delivering that, but it's pointless. You should be content with watching a decently animated series (because if it's decent, it could be much worse) that isn't all that great... It's what happened with the Invincible series, only they took it in stride and understood that they do all that because of a low budget to deliver something passable. I do recommend it for fans of ONE's work (and to contradict the hundreds of sheep who hate anime just because the internet says it has bad animation). If you're looking for high-budget animation, go somewhere else. Anyway, the story doesn't have much to offer, and judging it as a general anime without comparisons, it's average and doesn't offer anything special, but that's been known since season 1.

I thought the rating of 4.5 was just because a bunch of kids decided to brigade the show because of their unreasonable expectations about the animation, but no, it's actually bad. They fumbled worse than Shield Hero did. Before we begin, the key topic of interest to most reviews: animation. Yes, there are a few egregious scenes like Garou's slide, and it's clear that this is not a show with an immense budget, but it's also clear that the team did try to make it work (by employing trickery and (attempts at) comedy) and there are a few battle scenes that have decent animation, which ismuch better than most of the isekai anime that get ratings around ~6.5. But if the only issue was the animation, I wouldn't be giving this a 3, so what gives? Well, the same jokes / patterns / tropes get old really quickly. It's basically the same as S1/S2 but it's not just repetitive, it's also less funny and (almost) poorly executed. The allocation of screen time is very poor too. Why would anyone spend so much time introducing nameless characters that die a few seconds after they appear? Why spend such an amount of time on the side-side-characters? Yes, it's interesting to see more of Flashy Flash, Atomic Samurai, Child Emperor, Tatsumaki, and so on, but half an episode or so dedicated on each of them is a bit too much, especially when the "fights" are mostly dialogue anyway, and while the "most important event" (=raid) is taking place. And what the heck was that ending? It ended so quickly that it simply felt boring. You're left with the the bad kind of "what's next?", or maybe not even that, or maybe just <insert saitama S1 face> "okay".

Overall, this was a pretty decent season of One Punch Man. It didn’t hit the same highs as Season 1, and even Season 2 had moments that felt more polished, but it was still enjoyable from start to finish. The animation definitely dipped overall—some fights lacked fluidity and impact—but it was never outright terrible. It got the job done and had flashes of quality when it mattered. A lot of the backlash feels overblown. The animation crybabies need to get over themselves and watch more anime—plenty of shows look way worse and still get praised. This season wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t some disaster either. Ifyou go in with realistic expectations, there’s still plenty to enjoy. Final score: 6/10 — not amazing, not trash, just a solid and watchable overall.

" Absolute dogshit " People who claiming this isn't that bad are horrendous and lack brain cells , they haven't read manga at all . The problem isn't animation , it's bearable and watchable no doubt but the content that studio skipped while animating this is absolute dreadful , they even censored some scenes . I am not blaming jc staff , it's a great studio who gave many good hit in recent years . The main culprit is bandai namco , many good Lns and mangas got butchered due to greed and selfish behaviour even they removed jc staff due to criticism and hired 2new studios for season 4 and 5 . I advise to skip this part and read manga .

Story: 2/10 Slow pacing, bland writing and just the feeling that nothing happened. The fights were awful. Characters: 3/10 No character development whatsoever. A shame because this show has cool characters. Animation: 2/10I'm not giving it the lowest score possible because I have watched worse... but this was still tragic. Music: 4/10 Both the OP and ED were underwhelming. They even bottled the sound... Enjoyment: 3/10 A very tedious watch even for those, like me, who never really rated OPM. Overall: 3/10 Please blame the production committee, not the poor fellows that worked in inhumane conditions over the past few months.

It hurt me to say this, but this season of OPM is the definition of falling from heaven, crashing down to the middle of the earth. It is the worst anime that came out this year. PERIOD. I'm not the biggest fan of OPM, yet I can feel the cries of those who are fans. I feel so sorry for you all. It also pained me to learn that season 3, part 2, is going to be aired two years from now. That season should be the pinnacle moment of OPM as a series, and I doubt it will be a peak when it aired. I'm scaredto imagine that. Anyway, let's move on to the review. Platform Muse Asia, Bilibili Global, Crunchyroll, Hulu, iQIYI, and... Vidio. Wait, Vidio still buys anime licenses? Since when? I thought that platform only provides sinetron. The review; Plot/Story I don't think I need to delve too deeply into the story, as we're literally three seasons in. If you don't know what OPM is, I highly recommend reading the Webcomic or manga. Anyway, I'm just gonna say that it's not a good look, because the pacing, the canon event, and even the censoring make this season disastrous. Yes, even the storytelling couldn't save this season. Bear in mind, I defend season 2. I thought it was a solid watch, and I said to many people who doubted me that season 3 would be great and that JC Staff would pull through. But alas, I was proven wrong. Character Nope. Not gonna even talk about it. OST/SFX Great. It's a solid OP and ED. But that's just it. The OST and SFX in the anime itself were miserable. They couldn't even make the SFX and OST in the anime sound right. How did that even happen? Animation Oh, boy. Where do I even begin? First of all, where did it go wrong? Season two was decent, so where the fuck are all the animators that did that season... Oh, they were doing the gacha anime with the longest anime title known to mankind. Well, that was unexpected. I was wondering why this falls off. Anyway, I'm just going to be straight, they waste their talented animator. They should've rescheduled the season and talked about it first before just throwing the project headlong. This is bad. Like, really bad. I thought Bandai couldn't get worse, but man, they did it again without a doubt. Like, seriously. I thought season three would at least be upping the season two animation. Heck, they could surprise me with the Shakugan no Shana or Toaru series level of animation. But noooooooo. VA It's funny how they put more work into voice acting than the actual anime. THIS is the only thing that I can praise from this season. Yeah, it's that bad. Bonus segment Now, I want to use this segment to discuss the real complaint about this season. Bandai Namco. I'm sure you all saw on Twitter/X that there was a boycott about Bandai. They were upset and wanted an answer from the higher-ups at Bandai. We're not focusing on the boycott, but we'll focus on the main problem here. I'm sure many of you, especially in Indonesia, know how disgustingly high the prices of their games are. Let's just sink that in. They have money to do a lot of projects, and it felt like they didn't even give dim of shit to OPM. We have to think about it... why? Why would they do that? Well, I don't really have the answer, but I have a theory. Because OPM is the biggest IP known to the Western, and in Japan is just meh, they give the minimum, not even bear minimum, this is the lowest minimum of effort and spit it out to test how much money they could get from the Western with this IP. That's my theory. I heard that in Japan, OPM is not highly praised, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. The conclusion; The good I couldn't believe this would be my longest conclusion ever. Let me explain. Even when the season is bad, the content that spawns on the internet is insanely great. I watch people from all places daily, about their crashout, and copium. It was a fantastic way to enjoy this season. No doubt. Chibi Reviews, CawcawTV, Penguinz0, Nicholas Light, AJ Rich, and many people that I know are making content around these disasters of an anime. They are all shitting on OPM, and it's a fantastic feeling to let out the stress watching this anime. I'm not even joking. The bad Should I even say more? Gratitude Well, at least Muse Asia lets us Asians watch this for free. Thanks, guys. I don't even need to give a dim to watch this shit. Overall 1.7/10 I still praise the VA and JAM Project. I don't think they are doing badly.

Considering the content inside of this season is way worse than season 1 and 2, the fact that we had to suffer subpar animation is lessen by the hope that better arcs will get a better animation, so despite this being a positive review, I dont dislike the fact that people are speaking up about the issues in its animation, aslong as it is done reasonably. Still, the only fights that mattered were nicely animated which is a good consolation prize, it is not like they threw good animation ins the first 3 episodes and the rest were slop, the director clearly knew where to investmore time and money which is undoubtly nice, this is not a fumble, this is a production problem, I am sure the studio would have done just fine had they had more resources to work with. People have to remember that this issue is not caused by directors and artists but by greedy decisions by the excecutives. Also if you watched S3 of one punch man hating it all the way through, atleast give toujima kaimen raider a watch, you will certainly enjoy it more. It was nice enough 7/10

So, I just finished the long-awaited One Punch Man Season 3, and if I had to describe the entire season in a single word, it would be: a joke. Yes, it was that bad and boring. Or, I don’t know, maybe this whole season was some deep philosophical take meant to make us feel exactly how Saitama feels: bored Why it was that bad? Well.. 1 - The Animation The animation is so bad that a fan animation made with a broken drawing tablet could have delivered higher quality. For the first 3 episodes, it felt like a PowerPoint slideshow or a pile of rough sketches—possibly drawn by unpaidvolunteer beginner art students—randomly stitched together and called a finished project. 2 - The Story The main character, barely appears. There’s no real progression, no buildup, no climax - just random heroes showing up, fighting monsters, poorly animated action scenes, and then it ends. Even parody fan animators dealing with finals or full-time job deadlines could have handled this arc better. 3 - Pacing These 12 episodes were painfully stretched out. Everything that happened could have easily been put together in five episodes max. The rest seems to be almost designed to test the viewer’s patience. I gave this season a 3/10, purely for the opening and the soundtrack...and even those were just decent
JizzyBizzy
By the standards of my recent reviews, I will be TRY to be brief, so long as my anger and disappointment don't consume me, as I am not willing to put more effort into this review than the animators and directors put into this anime, which is very easy to do - even accidentally. Edit: I failed. A bit of history is due first. To say that OPM as a franchise has been mistreated is the understatement of this decade, because, in terms of a quality gap between source material and adaptation, then either this, or the newer Snow White and Crow movies is the worst adaptationof all time. And to think that in 2019 people were whining about S2 (which for the record I always absolutely loved) not looking as good...My takes defending S2 have either aged like fine wine, if you as me, or like milk, if you ask others as it is the same company. In case you have been living under a rock, Madhouse, which in the 2000s and early 2010s was synonymous with peak quality animation and good, faithful anime production, went broke and had to sell the rights to the anime to JC Staff, a studio that solely had experience making slice-of-life anime in the past, and even then they were never known for making the best animated slice-of-life shows. JC Staff would then go on to make a S2 with very polarizing and mixed rection from the fans and all of that a whopping 4 years after the original season, by which time the hype had slightly died down. As a Panty&Stocking and Clone High fan, to think that 4 years was once considered a long time to wait for a sequel...Anyways, this is the worst timing as it killed a portion of the remaining hype for the show right when the manga was deep into its best arc ever - the Monster Association Raid arc (name coined by yours truly, unless you can find a pre-2020 comment calling it that). This is because it's a known fact that whether or not an anime will explode immediately upon release and become mainstream is solely determined by the animation quality. That's why there are plenty of badly written mainstream anime, but not badly animated ones, and why there are probably 0 excellently animated shows you can think of that have gone into obscurity. That's why Demon Slayer, JJK, SOA and Solo Leveling popped off. I'm not at all saying that they have nothing going for them besides animation, but animation is THE reason they are mainstream. S2's animation wasn't bad at all in almost any scene. The reason people say this is because it has less sakuga, which is only apparent if you watch the two back to back, and even then it wasn't clear to me despite rewatching S1 first. Because of this, not only was S2 less well liked, but it was also more importantly seen by fewer people. To this day S2 has only a fraction of the members on MAL that S1 has and a lot of normies genuinely watched S1 10 years ago, thinking it was a short, self-contained, single season, pure comedy anime that finished with the Boros fight. This sounds asinine to terminally online weebs, like pretty much everyone on this website (no offense), but it is actually the case, I would wager. 1 out of 2 viewers of the original season of OPM to this day are unaware that it actually has an ongoing manga - one that is, for the most part, quite serious, in spite of the great comedy elements and parody of it all. This is also why so many people think that Saitama is some omnipotent, above fiction level, Buggs Bunny-esque gag character that one shots all of fiction because it would be funny. They are genuinely unaware that it's an actual legit action series with a serious plot. What has happened recently is infinitely worse for the reputation and momentum of the franchise. Not only have we had to way SIX years for 12 episodes this time around, making S1 a distant, decade-old memory that you actually have to go back and rewatch to even remember what happens, having many of the anime-only viewers inevitably lose interest in the property, but also delivering the worst possible disappointment of a sequel that makes S2 look way better than Edgerunners in comparison. According to rumors, JC Staff only started working on this season six months prior to its release, which would put it at the last 1/12th of the time they had (and I thought I was a procrastinator) and also mean that they started production over a year after first announcing the season. This is just completely diabolical. Whoever coordinated this needs to be fired. This genuinely feels like corruption, as if some higher up just pocketed 90% of the budget, or some sort of tax write-off (do they have those in Japan?) or some other type of fraud. Despite owning the rights to one of the most mainstream and best manga and anime franchises ever, and despite spending seemingly 0 yen on the actual production, they are somehow so afraid of not making ends meet in terms of views that they have to resort to censorship, in a desperate attempt to turn an M-rated manga into a PG show that they can air during primetime to squeeze out as much money out of this grift as humanly possible. I have to assume that the only reason there has been no decent OPM production in 6 years is that JC Staff is being so greedy that, not only are they shamelessly milking their owned IP, but they are either A) refusing to sell the license to any other, more competent studio so that they can milk it as much as humanly possible or B) trying to sell it for an absurd price to get as much out of it and no studio wants to pay that much for the chance to animate it better as it is so expensive that it is seen as a bad investment regardless of the popularity of OPM. It's sad that OPM has become the next Berserk. A masterpiece of a mange with incredible art and storytelling but with no proper adaptation. Even then, Berserk adaptations are better than this. All of them. Sound The voice acting is excellent, as it is the same voices for the characters as S1&2. The soundtrack is good for the same reason but somehow even that is used incorrectly to the point where it's so overdone that it's grating. The opening is fantastic. I like it more that S1's opening, but it is shy of S2's opening for the time being. Still, the actual animation of the opening is clearly inferior to the previous two. I still don't know why it's called "Get No Satisfied". That will never not be weird to me. That and some of the lyrics and fists in the air scene. The ending is fine. If I'm known (unlikely) for even one thing at all on this website, it's for my usual takes defending underdog shows and bashing on beloved things that weren't to my taste. I'm normally the guy that defends shows with bad animation and good story (Berserk, Uzumaki), but the censorship and retconned material on top for such a good battle manga was way too much. Early episodes passed by quickly in spite of the nearly-nonexistent animation, but it got worse and worse and it eventually didn't even have any ironic or unironic entertainment value anymore. Every episode got worse and worse for the most part. I haven't had an experience like this since Eva. Animation, the thing you were all waiting for. The only standouts are episodes 8 and 12. Episode 8 is weird because it is Flashy Flash-heavy, and people were understandably confused by a Flashy Flash episode of all things being given more care than a Saitama or Tatsumaki episode. What's worse, the ones immediately after that were some of the worst ever. They adapted famously retconned, redrawn chapters that aren't even canon and haven't been for literal years, they censored the athletic girl's speedos, they censored Zombieman smoking a cigarette and even censored his busted head so badly that he looked like Imu from One Piece. They couldn't even time punch sound effects to the actual impact animation, which isn't even something that has to do with the actual budget or quality of animation. It only takes a minute to course-correct and is extremely easy to spot. I am convinced that they were doing the South Park thing of animating an episode after the previous already aired the previous week. And then there is the infamous "Garou PNG sliding down" meme. It's like they took that infamous space scene out of Invincible and decided to make it even more blatant. There were so many animation errors - from a character having 6 fingers to 3 boobs - that people were convinced that they are using AI. However, had they used AI, it would have been a vastly better looking anime. People seem to be unaware of how good text-to-video generation has gotten. It can even do impact frames. People proved this by actually using AI. Other fans actually drew their own fan-made scenes that were vastly superior and - according to some of them - done in no time...despite being done by one person who isn't a pro in his spare time. As for that last episode standing out, I suppose they wanted to end on a banger, but even then it was still a wimper...or a fart. The last after credits scene is of Saitama just walking away after saying something completely meaningless. It lit-....It figuratively ends in a fart. Announcing a cour 2 immediately was just salt in the wound. This has to be a troll of some sort, or a fraud as I said. The damage done to this show is so bad that in the future, to adapt future arcs, it simply has to be rebooted entirely. Yes, even S1. It should not be a show with a complicated watch order. Just redo the whole damn thing. Overall In terms of entertainment value, which is how I usually rate shows, it's a 6, simply because the source material is so good and I'm so invested in these characters. I was never really bored up until some of the episodes towards the very end and as I said earlier, the early episodes went by pretty quickly in spite of everything. That being said, watching Chibi reviews and Nicholas Light TV melt down over it was way more entertaining than the actual series. In terms of how much I hate the fact that the show exists, it's a 0. I hate this, I hate the JC Staff leadership, I hate how they massacred my boy and I hate how much they have spat in the faces of One and Murata. I suppose that averages down to a 3.

It's OK. Normally I wouldn't write a review about this type of anime, being the second part out of three from an arc which started (Anime-wise) in 2019 (And that through drover of historical revisionism, people are now pretending that they didn't complain about at the time), there simply isn't much to say about something that is incomplete, lacking even some sort of thematic ending. I feel compelled to, however, in order to combat the waves of backlash it has received. Thinking this is one of the worst anime on MAL and that therefore it deserves a score fitting that is, simply, just silly. In a fairer world, witha better community, divorced from the cancer of "hype moments and aura" culture, never having come into contact with powerscales that can't seem to notice that this is supposed to be a comedy series, having no loaded expectations surrounding it, OPM3 would've been with a score similar to an anime like "Teogonia", somewhere already the upper 6.XX where people talk about it's cool designs, concepts and story, but feel sad that it received a subpar production. Sadly, we don't live in that world, we live in a world where people need to be performative in order to gain likes on TikTok. It's the SAO of our generation, a scapegoat which was decided to be the culprit for the worlds sins and that therefore any violence against, no matter how unjustified, is now justified. For that, it has been victim of repeated misinformation and nitpicking ("GAROU IS SLIDING, GUYZ", even though he was also sliding in the manga, "THERE'S LACK OF CONTINUITY IN THIS BACKGROUND" even though it's two different scenes", "THIS SCENE HERE IS DIFFERENT" from obvious AI posts, "IT CHANGES COLOR PALETTES" even though other anime like JoJo also employ the same technique). All that I can say to those groups of people is: Watch more anime. With that in mind, OPM3 is far from perfect: By trying to mimic the manga to closely, to the point of using it as a storyboard, it created a drove of issues. That goes from one of the common problems you also see in shounen adaptations (e.g. Dr Stone and Tougen Anki) where what is a full-page scene in a manga, usually surrounded by speech bubbles, becomes a long, static, unnatural scene with a weird placement of negative space... to issues where the transition from one shot to the other feels too abrupt (e.g. character is now in a completely different pose), this happens so often it becomes VERY noticeable. Dimming and ghosting, while still present in some scenes, are in WAY less quantity than with season 2. Believe me when I tell you that you'll see less of it here than you'll see in something like Princession Orchestra. As much as it might have had production issues from the get go, it comes from a strong foundation in still having good pacing, an interesting story, entertaining action scenes (Though let's just say that some are more animated than others, there was a sense of priority here) as well as the "grandfathered qualities" of previous seasons (e.g. the choice of having Doutei's seiyuu be the same of from Edogawa Conan, Yuuki Aoi as Tatsumaki, the expected good performances from Tsuda Kenjirou, Koyasu Takehito and Sakurai Takahiro). In a way, however, it could be said that OPM as a franchise dug a bit of it's own grave: Objectively speaking, as someone who watches a lot of seasonals, it really isn't that different from the average seasonal. But it as a franchise, in a way, didn't market itself to "the guy who watches average seasonals". While ONE's style might have made the comedic element of the series very explicit (In a way that was still translatable to animation without the loss of it's action qualities, as was well executed by Bones in the adaptions of Mob Psycho 100), Murata's naturalistic artstyle gave it a veneer of "seriousness"... almost to a kitsch level. It now attracts the expectations of the "Nintendo, hire this man!" crowd, which now expect the work to be a "Focus, M". The fanbase giveth, and the fanbase taketh away: Due to the way manga and anime work, this now becomes part of the cycle of feedback, and now OPM has become always burdened to satisfy a level of expectation of "graphical quality" (The comparison to video-game graphics it's usually wrong, but it is literally how it is being thought of in this way), having it as it's selling point. While it delivers in that regard, it will be shared to the world by all, trying to flex to the world how "YOUR" art and animation is better than the one of the guy right behind you. The moment it stops delivering (And it, in a way, did stop delivering this season), it now serves no purpose and becomes treated worse than trash. OPM3 is an OK anime, but perhaps, more interesting than it, it's the story of tragedies surrounding it that mirrors the story of it's protagonist: A man searching for power, but what gave them power in a way also became their curse, a curse of ruined expectations. Were he still a common man, he might've been able to find happiness in other way, were One Punch Man a "common anime franchise", OPM3 might've been able to find more love. Alas, this wasn't the case.

I think everything that needed to be said about this season has already been said, but I still feel like I need to add my voice. This season ranks among the biggest and worst disasters of a beloved anime franchise. Whoever greenlit this to be released in the state it was should honestly be ashamed. One Punch Man season 3 is not even a half baked product, it feels more like a rough draft college project that somehow got marketed as the full thing. And I really wish I was exaggerating, but I genuinely am not. Not only is the animation absolutely disastrous, to the pointwhere even no name isekai harems look better, but the show insists on using ugly neon filters all the time whenever a character gets a close up. There is no movement, everything feels flat and boring, and about 90 percent of the show consists of lifeless PNGs being panned around. This alone would completely ruin an action heavy anime that relies so heavily on its larger than life fight scenes like One Punch Man, but sadly this is not where the problems end. The pacing is abysmal and every episode feels uneventful and, quite frankly, boring. The comedy does not work this season and comes across as unfunny. Saitama, the literal main character of the show, is present in maybe three or four episodes. For most of the season he does not matter at all and is reduced to a minor comedic relief character. The music also starts playing at the most random times, and the same OST is repeated over and over, sometimes up to what feels like twenty times per episode, which feels incredibly jarring. I could probably go on for hours about the issues, but that is the general gist of it. I usually try to be as objective and neutral as possible in my reviews, but there is genuinely nothing to praise this season for. Maybe the fact that some characters look nice in a few isolated shots, but that is about it. Everything else is a complete mess from start to finish. I am generally of the opinion that barely any anime deserve a rating lower than five out of respect for the artists and effort involved, but there is nothing to respect here. I would not blame anyone for rating it even lower. That is just how shockingly bad this season was. It is easily among the worst anime seasons I have ever seen and painfully disappointing. I still hope that voicing our frustration as a community is heard by someone, anyone really, and that it leads to something. Maybe it will at least make the second part of the season remotely better. Who knows.

You might be looking at the (current) 4.55 score and thinking to yourself "Was it really that bad?" and the answer is yes. Apparently this season was plagued by problems in production and while they definitely lived up to Time Gunn's "Make it work," work is about the nicest thing you could say about this season. There were a lot of static panels, the fights weren't quite there, and the big ticket scenes felt flat in places. What kept it from being truly unwatchable was the story itself,in places where the action wasn't applicable. It makes me glad that we're going to have to waituntil 2027 for part 2 of season 3 because that will hopefully give production the time to make that cour more on par with seasons 1 and 2. If you enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 you might get something out of season 3, but I would highly recommend reading the manga instead, which would be chapters 86 to about chapter 112.

Okay.....Now that the season has been completed....Don't. There is one short good sakuga cut in episode 12 but I don't think it's worth it to sit through the horrible direction and choppy awkward storyboarding that was present throughout the season due to a visible lack of time and poor production management. As for the other episodes, • Ep 11 has some good cuts as well (my fav being the Puri Puri Prisoner cut). I personally really liked the storyboards for this episode. One of the few times they actually made use of creativity for the lack of time but it's understandable that one person handling 11whole episodes in such a production is not going to give you any better. • Ep 9 was consistent in quality with some decent to good looking minor cuts. • Ep 8 had the best choreographed fight sequence which was pretty enjoyable. Of course, the comedy scenes were still pretty good (could have been better executed) but they were decent even among the poor storyboards.... So, the conclusion is: If you want to experience the story and humor, read the manga. If you want to check out the few minor good cuts, watch a MAD Sakuga highlight video or something that compiles it all cuz watching 12 episodes for some 10-15 minutes worth of animated cuts is NOT worth it. ᴹʸ ᴾʳᵉˡᶦᵐᶦⁿᵃʳʸ ᴿᵉᵛᶦᵉʷ ⁽ᵉᵖˢ ⁴/¹²⁾⬇️ <<<"ᵀʰᶦˢ ᶦˢ ᵃ ᵖʳᵉˡᶦᵐᶦⁿᵃʳʸ ʳᵉᵛᶦᵉʷ ᵃⁿᵈ ᴵ'ˡˡ ᵉᵈᶦᵗ ᵐʸ ᵘᵖᵈᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᵗʰᵒᵘᵍʰᵗˢ ᵃᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ᵉⁿᵈ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ. ᶠᶦʳˢᵗˡʸ, ᵗʰᵉ ᵍᵒᵒᵈ ˢᶦᵈᵉ: ᶜᵒᵐᵖᵒˢᶦᵗᶦⁿᵍ, ᴬʳᵗ ᵈᶦʳᵉᶜᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵗᵒʳʸᵇᵒᵃʳᵈˢ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜᵒᵐᵉᵈʸ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉˢ. ᴺᵒʷ......ˡᵉᵗ'ˢ ᵍᵉᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵃᵈ ˢᶦᵈᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᶦⁿᵍˢ: ᴹᵒˢᵗ ᵒᶠ ᶦᵗ ᶠᵉᵉˡˢ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᶦᵗ ʷᵃˢ ˢᵘᵖᵖᵒˢᵉᵈ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᵇᵘᵗ ʳᵉᵖˡᵃᶜᵉᵈ ʷᶦᵗʰ ᶠʳᵃᵐᵉˢ ᵖᵃⁿⁿᵉᵈ ᵗʰʳᵒᵘᵍʰ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᶜʳᵉᵉⁿ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗᶦᵐᵉ ᶜᵒⁿˢᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵗˢ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ʷʰᵒ ᶜᵒᵘˡᵈ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵍᵘᵉˢˢᵉᵈᵎ ᵀʰᵉ ᶠᶦᵍʰᵗˢ ᵃʳᵉ... ᶦᵈᵏ ᵐᵃʸᵇᵉ ᵒᵏᵃʸ ᶦᵍˀ ᵀʰᵉ ᴳᵃʳᵒᵘ ᶠᶦᵍʰᵗ ᶠᵉˡᵗ ᵃ ᵇᶦᵗ ᵒᵈᵈ ᶦⁿ ᵗᵉʳᵐˢ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠˡᵒʷ ᶜᵘᶻ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᵉᵈᶦᵗᵉᵈ ᶦⁿ ᶜᵘᵗˢ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ʷᵉʳᵉ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵒʳᶦᵍᶦⁿᵃˡˡʸ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ ᵇᵘᵗ ᵒᶠᶜ ᶦᵗ ʷᵃˢ ˢᵗᶦˡˡ ᵒᵛᵉʳᵃˡˡ ʰᵃⁿᵈˡᵉᵈ ʷᵉˡˡ. ᵀʰᵉ ʷᵃᵗᵉʳᶠᵃˡˡ ᶠᶦᵍʰᵗ ʷᵃˢ ᵃ ᵐᶦˣ ᵃ ᶠᵉʷ ˢᵉᶜᵒⁿᵈˢ ᵒᶠ ᵍᵒᵒᵈ ˢᵗᵒʳʸᵇᵒᵃʳᵈ ᵛᶦˢᶦᵒⁿ ᵐᶦˣᵉᵈ ʷᶦᵗʰ ᵘⁿᶠᶦⁿᶦˢʰᵉᵈ ᵏᵉʸ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿˢ ʷᶦᵗʰ ᵃ ʰᵘᵍᵉ ˡᵃᶜᵏ ᵒᶠ ᶦⁿ⁻ᵇᵉᵗʷᵉᵉⁿˢ ʷʰᶦᶜʰ ᵃˡˢᵒ ᶦˢ ᶜᵘᶻ ᵒᶠ ˡᵃᶜᵏ ᵒᶠ ᵗᶦᵐᵉ. ᵀʰᵉʸ ᶜᵃⁿ'ᵗ ᶠᶦⁿᶦˢʰ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᶦᶠ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᵈᵒⁿ'ᵗ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵗʰᵉ ᵗᶦᵐᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᵉ ᵇᵘᵗ ᴵ'ᵐ ᵖʳᵉᵗᵗʸ ˢᵘʳᵉ ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶜᵘᵗ ʷᶦˡˡ ˡᵒᵒᵏ ᵇᵉᵗᵗᵉʳ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇˡᵘ⁻ʳᵃʸ ᵛᵉʳˢᶦᵒⁿ. ᵀʰᵉ ˢᵗᵒʳʸᵇᵒᵃʳᵈᶦⁿᵍ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᶜᵘᵗ ʷᵃˢ ᵖʳᵉᵗᵗʸ ᵃᵐᵇᶦᵗᶦᵒᵘˢ ᵗʰᵒᵘᵍʰ.... ᵀʰᶦˢ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ᵗʳᵘˡʸ ˢʰᶦⁿᵉˢ ʷʰᵉⁿ ᶦᵗ ᶜᵒᵐᵉˢ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜᵒᵐᵉᵈᶦᶜ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉˢ. ᵀʰᵉ ᵈᶦʳᵉᶜᵗᵒʳ ʷʰᵒ ᶦˢ ᵃˡˢᵒ ʳᵉˢᵖᵒⁿˢᶦᵇˡᵉ ᶠᵒʳ ᵐᵒˢᵗ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵗᵒʳʸᵇᵒᵃʳᵈᶦⁿᵍ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᶦˢ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ᵏⁿᵒʷˢ ʰᵒʷ ᵗᵒ ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜᵒᵐᵉᵈᶦᶜ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉˢ ᵖᵒᵖ ᵒᶠᶠ. ᴮᵘᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ᵐᵃᶦⁿ ᵖʳᵒᵇˡᵉᵐ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᶦˢ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ᶦˢ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠˡᵒʷ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉˢ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᵗʰᵉ ᵗʳᵃⁿˢᶦᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᶠʳᵒᵐ ᵒⁿᵉ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵃⁿᵒᵗʰᵉʳ ᶦˢ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ᵃᵇʳᵘᵖᵗ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵒᶠ ᵖˡᵃᶜᵉ ᵐᵒˢᵗˡʸ ᶜᵘᶻ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵗᵒʳʸᵇᵒᵃʳᵈˢ ᵐᵒˢᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵇᵃᵇˡʸ ʰᵃᵛᶦⁿᵍ ˡᵒᵗˢ ᵒᶠ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵒᶠ ᵖˡᵃᶜᵉ ᵐᵃⁿᵍᵃ ᵖᵃⁿᵉˡˢ ʲᵘˢᵗ ᶜᵒᵖʸ ᵖᵃˢᵗᵉᵈ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ʳᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᶦˢ......ʸᵒᵘ ᵍᵘᵉˢˢᵉᵈ ᶦᵗᵎ ᵀᴵᴹᴱ ᶜᴼᴺˢᵀᴿᴬᴵᴺᵀˢᵎ ᴬ ˡᵒᵗ ᵒᶠ ʳᵘˢʰᵉᵈ ᵈʳᵃʷᶦⁿᵍˢ ʷᶦᵗʰ ᶦⁿᶜᵒⁿˢᶦˢᵗᵉⁿᶜᶦᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵘⁿᶠᶦⁿᶦˢʰᵉᵈ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᶜᵘᵗˢ ᵃʳᵉ ᵖʳᵉˢᵉⁿᵗ ʷʰᶦᶜʰ ᶜᵒᵘˡᵈⁿ'ᵗ ᵇᵉ ᶠᶦˣᵉᵈ ᶜᵘᶻ.....ᴬᴳᴬᴵᴺ ʸᴼᵁ ᴳᵁˢˢᴱᴰ ᴵᵀᵎ ᵀᴵᴹᴱ ᶜᴼᴺˢᵀᴿᴬᴵᴺᵀˢᵎ ᵀʰᵉ ᵖᵃᶜᶦⁿᵍ ʰᵃˢ ᵃˡˢᵒ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ˢˡᵒʷ ᵇᵘᵗ ᵗʰᵃᵗ'ˢ ᵘⁿᵈᵉʳˢᵗᵃⁿᵈᵃᵇˡᵉ. ᵀʰᵉ ˢᵗᵃᶠᶠ ᵈᵒᵉˢⁿ'ᵗ ʷᵃⁿᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᵉ ᵃˡˡ ᵗʰᵉ ʰᵘᵍᵉ ᶠᶦᵍʰᵗˢ ᶜᵒⁿˢᶦᵈᵉʳᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉ ʰᵉˡˡᶦˢʰ ᵈᵉᵃᵈˡᶦⁿᵉˢ. ᴵ ʳᵉᵃˡˡʸ ˡᶦᵏᵉᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ᵘˢᵉ ᵒᶠ ᶜᴳᴵ ᶦⁿ ᵉᵖᶦˢᵒᵈᵉ ⁴ ᵗʰᵒᵘᵍʰ ᵈᵘʳᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜᵒʳʳᶦᵈᵒʳ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉ. ᴵᵏ ᵐᵒˢᵗ ⁿᵒʳᵐᶦᵉˢ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈ ˢᵗᵃʳᵗ ᶠʳᵉᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵃᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ʷᵒʳᵈ ᵇᵉᶦⁿᵍ ᵐᵉⁿᵗᶦᵒⁿᵉᵈ ᵃˢ ᶦᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ᶦⁿᵗʳᵒᵈᵘᶜᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᶜᴳᴵ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵉ ᶦⁿᵈᵘˢᵗʳʸ ʳᵘᶦⁿᵉᵈ ᵗʰᵉᶦʳ ˡᶦᶠᵉ ᵇᵘᵗ ᶦᵗ ᶦˢ ᵃⁿ ᶦᵐᵖᵒʳᵗᵃⁿᵗ ᵗᵒᵒˡ ᶦⁿ ᵐᵒᵈᵉʳⁿ ᵈᵃʸ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵉ ᵖʳᵒᵈᵘᶜᵗᶦᵒⁿˢ. ᴹᵃⁿʸ ˢʰᵒʷˢ ᵘˢᵉ ᶦᵗ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᴼⁿᵉ ᴾᶦᵉᶜᵉ, ᴰᵉᵐᵒⁿ ˢˡᵃʸᵉʳ, ᴰᵃⁿᵈᵃᵈᵃⁿ, ᴸᵒʳᵈ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ᴹʸˢᵗʳᶦᵉˢ, ᴮˡᵃᶜᵏ ᴮᵘᵗˡᵉʳ, ᴬᵗᵗᵃᶜᵏ ᵒⁿ ᵀᶦᵗᵃⁿ ⁽ᵉᵛᵉⁿ ˢ¹⁻³ ᵇʸ ᵂᶦᵗ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵃ ˡᵒᵗ ᵒᶠ ᶦᵗ ᵇᵗʷ⁾, ᶜʰᵃᶦⁿˢᵃʷ ᵐᵃⁿ, ᴷᵃᶦʲᵘ ⁿᵒ.⁸, ᵉᵗᶜ. ᴬⁿᵈ ᵒᶠᶜ ᴵ ᵖᵉʳˢᵒⁿᵃˡˡʸ ᵗʰᶦⁿᵏ ᵗʰᵉ ᶜᴳ ᵈᵉᵖᵃʳᵗᵐᵉⁿᵗ ᵒᶠ ᴶᶜ ˢᵗᵃᶠᶠ ᶦˢ ᵒⁿᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵉˢᵗ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ᶦⁿᵈᵘˢᵗʳᶦᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᶦᵗ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈ ᵇᵉ ᵃ ʷᵃˢᵗᵉ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᵘˢᵉ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉᵐ ᵃᵗˡᵉᵃˢᵗ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗʰᵉ ᵈʳᵃᶠᵗˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵃʸᵒᵘᵗˢ ᵒᶠ ʰᵒʷ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉˢ ʷᶦˡˡ ᵖˡᵃʸ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵇʸ ᵗᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍ ᵇᵃˢᶦᶜ ᵃⁿᵃᵗᵒᵐʸ ᵐᵒᵈᵉˡˢ ᶠᵒʳ ʰᵘᵐᵃⁿˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵒᵗʰᵉʳ ᵇᵃˢᶦᶜ ˢʰᵃᵖᵉˢ ᶠᵒʳ ᵗʰᵉ ᵉⁿᵛᶦʳᵒⁿᵐᵉⁿᵗ. ᴵ ᵐᵉᵃⁿ ᵗʰᵉˢᵉ ᵃʳᵉ ʲᵘˢᵗ ˡᵃʸᵒᵘᵗˢ ᶠᵒʳ ʰᵒʷ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᶜᵉⁿᵉ ʷᶦˡˡ ᵖˡᵃʸ ᵒᵘᵗ ˢᶦᵐᶦˡᵃʳ ᵗᵒ ʳᵒᵘᵍʰ ˢᵏᵉᵗᶜʰᵉˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵍᵘᶦᵈᵉˡᶦⁿᵉˢ ᶦⁿ ᵈʳᵃʷᶦⁿᵍˢ ʷʰᶦᶜʰ ᵍᵉᵗ ᵉʳᵃˢᵉᵈ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠᶦⁿᵃˡ ᵖʳᵒᵈᵘᶜᵗ. ᴰᵒᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉˢᵉ ᵘˢᶦⁿᵍ ᶜᴳ ᵐᵒᵈᵉˡˢ ᶦˢ ᵗᶦᵐᵉ ᵉᶠᶠᶦᶜᶦᵉⁿᵗ ᶦⁿ ᶜᵒᵐᵖᵃʳᵉᵈ ᵗᵒ ˢᵏᵉᵗᶜʰᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉᵐ ᵒᵘᵗ. ᴺᵒʷ, ʷʰᵃᵗ ʷᵉ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ʳᶦᵍʰᵗ ⁿᵒʷ ᵃʳᵉⁿ'ᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ʰᶦᵍʰˡᶦᵍʰᵗˢ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵒᶠᶜ ᵗʰᵉ ᵉᵖᶦˢᵒᵈᵉˢ ᵒᶠ ᵗʰᵉ ˡᵃᵗᵉʳ ʰᵃˡᶠ ʷᶦˡˡ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ᵗᶦᵐᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᶠˡᵉˢʰᵉᵈ ᵒᵘᵗ ᶜᵒⁿˢᶦᵈᵉʳᶦⁿᵍ ᵗʰᵉ ᵖʳᵒᵈᵘᶜᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᶦˢ ˢᵗᶦˡˡ ᵒⁿᵍᵒᶦⁿᵍ. ᵀʰᵉʳᵉ ᵃʳᵉ ʰᶦᵍʰᵉʳ ᶜʰᵃⁿᶜᵉˢ ᵒᶠ ᶦᵗ ᵇᵉᶦⁿᵍ ᵇᵉᵗᵗᵉʳ ᵗʰᵃⁿ ʷʰᵃᵗ ʷᵉ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ⁿᵒʷ ᵗʰᵃⁿ ᶦᵗ ᵇᵉᶦⁿᵍ ʷᵒʳˢᵉ ᵇᵘᵗ ᵒᶠᶜ ᶦᵗ ᵇᵉᶦⁿᵍ ᵇᵉᵗᵗᵉʳ ᵒʳ ʷᵒʳˢᵉ ᵃʳᵉ ᵃˡˡ ʲᵘˢᵗ ˢᵖᵉᶜᵘˡᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿˢ ᶠᵒʳ ⁿᵒʷ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵉᵛᵉⁿ ᶦᶠ ᶦᵗ ʷᵉʳᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵇᵉᵗᵗᵉʳ, ᶦᵗ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈ ᵇᵉ ᵃ ˡᶦᵗᵗˡᵉ ᵃᵇᵒᵛᵉ ᵃᵛᵉʳᵃᵍᵉ ᵃᵗ ᵇᵉˢᵗ. ᴼᶠᶜ, ᵗʰᶦˢ ᶦˢⁿ'ᵗ ˢᶦᵐᵖˡʸ ʲᵘˢᵗ ᵃ ˢᵗᵘᵈᶦᵒ ᵇᵉᶦⁿᵍ ᶦⁿᶜᵒᵐᵖᵉᵗᵉⁿᵗ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᵐᵃⁿʸ ᵃʳᵉ ˢᵃʸᶦⁿᵍ ᶜᵘᶻ ᶦᶠ ᶦᵗ ʷᵃˢ, ʷᵉ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈⁿ'ᵗ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ʰᵃᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ᶠᵉʷ ᵃⁿᶦᵐᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᶜᵘᵗˢ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ʷᵉ ᵈᵒ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃʳᵗ ᵈᶦʳᵉᶜᵗᶦᵒⁿ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈⁿ'ᵗ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ˡᶦᵏᵉ ᵗʰᶦˢ. ᴼᵛᵉʳᵃˡˡ, ᶦᶠ ʷᵉ ᵗᵃˡᵏ ʷᶦᵗʰ ʳᵉˢᵖᵉᶜᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ᶦⁿᵈᵘˢᵗʳʸ ˢᵗᵃⁿᵈᵃʳᵈˢ, ᵗʰᵉ ᶠᶦʳˢᵗ ⁴ ᵉᵖᶦˢᵒᵈᵉˢ ʷᵉʳᵉ ᵃ ⁵/¹⁰. ᵂᵉ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵗᵒ ʷᵃᶦᵗ ᶠᵒʳ ⁿᵒʷ ᵗᵒ ˢᵉᵉ ʷʰᵃᵗ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᵉᵃˢᵒⁿ ᵃˢ ᵃ ʷʰᵒˡᵉ ʷᶦˡˡ ᵉⁿᵈ ᵘᵖ ˡᶦᵏᵉ.">>>

Rather than talk about the What's of the Happening in OPM S3, we have to dive deeper and go into the Why's of the Tragic Mess we got from OPM S3. I'll try to explain it in a simple manner to give you all some perspective, not that it matters since everyone knows from the scrutiny, but it will help clarify why OPM S3 looked the way it is. 1. Comparison Scale * OPM S1 was hailed as an incredibly animated anime due to its animation, but some people assumed that it was because of the studio's talent or incredible budget that led to the anime's greatreception. The truth is that the anime's first season didn't even have that many talents from Madhouse. It was rather a production that assembled many freelancers and talented animators from other studios, for example, Yutaka Nakamura and Chikashi Kubota. This is important to note, while there are most definitely studios with many in-house talents at that time, Madhouse only got credit due to the perfect team of talented animators that happened to be there for OPM S1. * OPM S2 is what S1 should have looked like without that perfect team. While it did suffer from tight deadlines and production issues similar to how S3 went through, there were still a couple of talented animators who helped save OPM from its downfall, most definitely Kenichiro Aoki, who helped provide some of the best-looking scenes in OPM S2, ultimately saving it from looking like a PowerPoint show. Although the grayish-looking backgrounds were jarring to see in the previous season, the animation was still sustainable to a good degree, despite being nowhere near as consistent as S1 was. * And then S3 happened. Since the official teaser for S3 was announced a year ago, it was very likely that only one scene was completed before they had more finished scenes. While the blurry gray coloring that S2 had is rectified in S3, the same cannot be said for the animation in S3. As you all know from the heavy scrutiny OPM S3 went through, it was given extremely tight deadlines, implying that the project for S3 was sidelined until the announcement, whilst having very little budget for the studio. I tried to be positive and assumed that the anime would be similar to Season 2's quality, given that the circumstances were still somewhat similar to how Season 2's production went. However, this time, it did not go so well. 2. Staff Issues * As I stated earlier about staff, Season 1 was supposed to be just a normal production, however with the network Director Shingo Natsume was able to amass during his earlier work, he was able to guarantee an incredible team to work on OPM S1 and with the amount of creative freedom the staff were given, it's what is known as the secret to how OPM was able to succeed and attract so many attention such as I, being one of my first anime to watch and repeat more than 5 times. Season 3 had more issues than just a lack of talented staff. Due to the extremely tight deadlines, it was noted that there were only a few episodes that J.C Staff handled, while the other episodes were outsourced by smaller studios from China, hence explaining why Motley Heroes received the lowest rating out of all the episodes in Season 3. The outsourcing in such a small amount of time would explain why the pacing and production were so awful, with episodes only showing characters talking and the odd color filter they would put to make them seem menacing during exposition sequences. * The biggest reason why Season 3 is so terrible in every aspect possible would be the ridiculous mismanagement conducted by the production committee, with Bandai Namco Filmworks being the main culprit. While freelancers tried to save the season with a couple of decent storyboards and animation sequences, the frequency of this happening is all too low, and they did not have the time necessary to properly animate all episodes for Season 3. The outsourcing, the sloppy pacing, the inconsistent character modeling, and the awful censoring to cut corners were what turned OPM S3 into a dumpster fire in the end. 3. Final Conduct * As a fan of OPM, I am both saddened and frustrated with the way OPM S3 turned out. Like most fans of OPM, a little part of me was secretly hoping that it would pull a Blue Lock comeback, with my siblings being fans of OPM and feeling hopeful that it would get better. It was unfortunate that the quality fluctuated from time to time. At the time Episode 7 aired, I was screaming as to why the show wasn't canceled at this point, as it looked so unbearable to watch. Alas, I can't seem to give the 1 rating to this season as I still found some enthusiasm, albeit little, this season 3 was able to salvage from all the mess it caused. For the aftermath, this will definitely make people lose hope towards Bandai Namco's Filmworks, considering they are involved in future projects that may cause a mess like OPM S3 to happen again in the near future. Considering how they officially announced OPM S3 2nd cour right after the end of this first cour, it still gives me a little bit of hope that it might look better than what Season 3, however, any enthusiasm from every OPM fan has just dwindled to just nothing in the end. That is the fate of a dedicated fan of a ruined franchise. Thank you for reading.
